Sydney D'Orso
Prior to joining NEBT in 2023, Sydney obtained her BFA in Ballet from the University of Cincinnati, where she trained under Deirdre Carberry, Qi Jiang, and Michael Tevlin. Growing up, she attended the Regional Center for the Arts, a public interdistrict magnet high school in Trumbull, CT, under the direction of Alana Reagan. Her earliest dance training she received from Carrie Pin and the MacDonald-Pin Dancers in Ridgefield, CT. Sydney's choreography has appeared in productions for the University of Cincinnati, for the School and Company of NEBT, and at local festivals. In 2023 she received the inaugural Young Choreographer Award at NEBT. Sydney holds a BA in English, a Certificate in Professional Writing, and is a published writer and literary editor. She also has professional experience in early childhood education. Sydney believes that creativity is a necessary aspect of community and is passionate about engaging with others through art.
