Tamar Cohen
Tamar Cohen (all pronouns) is a dancer with New England Ballet Theatre's Professional Program. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 2022, with a self-designed major in Communication and Storytelling in the Arts and a minor in Educational Studies. Tamar began dancing at age three at Dance Unlimited in Goleta, California, before pursuing more serious training at Santa Barbara Festival Ballet. She joined SBFB's performing company in 2014, performing in Santa Barbara and surrounding counties, traveling to annual festivals with Regional Dance America, and taking part in the Nutcracker at the Arlington. Tamar also attended summer intensives with Cecchetti USA, Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, and The Rock School of Dance Education. In 2017, she competed in the Cecchetti International Ballet Competition in Florence, Italy representing Cecchetti USA, before receiving the Rising Voices Fellowship with the Jewish Women's Archive. Tamar attended Mount Holyoke College from 2018 to 2022, graduating Cum Laude and with departmental honors for a successful thesis. She has been dancing with NEBT since September of 2023. In 2024, Tamar completed Boston Ballet School's Adaptive Dance Teacher Training.
